NextShark Fans Demanded a News App, So We Sacrificed Everything to Make it Happen

“We are very excited to announce the release of the NextShark App,” says Benny Luo, CEO of NextShark. “I started NextShark 5 years ago with only $3,000 when there was little media presence about Asian issues. Instead of being written off, I sought to create a platform that would empower and amplify our voices.”
Reaching over 10 million people per week on social media, NextShark noticed a demand for a mobile app. As of today, the NextShark App is now available for download for free for both Apple and Android. The app features daily news, an optional night mode, and a commenting system that enables users to discuss and connect.
“The demand for the NextShark app demonstrates how much Asian voices, more than ever before, need to be heard,” said Waylae Gregoire, Editor-in-Chief of NextShark. “With the app, we hope to extend our reach to an even larger community and connect them to the issues that matter, represent them, and add a positivity to their lives.”
