Netflix has announced the release date for its Korean drama “Black Knight,” a live-action adaptation of Lee Yungyun’s 2017-2019 webtoon “Delivery Knight”.
The dystopian series follows “Uncontrollably Fond” star Kim Woo-bin as “5-8,” a renowned member of the Black Knights, who are responsible for delivering emergency supplies like oxygen in a devastatingly polluted Korea.
Song Seung-heon (“Voice”) will play the role of a tyrannical business tycoon who dominates the world, while Esom (“Taxi Driver”) will portray a major-ranked officer working for the Defense Intelligence Command. Kang You-seok (“Start-Up”) will play a young man who looks up to 5-8. The series will be directed by Cho Ui-seok, who is known for “Master” and “Cold Eyes.”
Kim expressed his excitement about the project in a press release.
“I felt immense happiness while filming this series, and I sincerely hope that our collective efforts resonate with the viewers, and they too relish every moment of it, just as I did.”
“Black Knight” will stream on Netflix on May 12. Check out the first teaser image below:
