MONSTA X debut first subunit with members Shownu and Hyungwon

K-pop boy group MONSTA X have launched their first subunit with the debut of Shownu x Hyungwon.
About the duo: On Tuesday, group members Shownu, 31, and Hyungwon, 29, released their first-ever mini-album, “The Unseen.”
The new release was accompanied by a music video for the mini-album’s lead single, “Love Me a Little.” The track was notably co-written and co-produced by Hyungwon himself.
In addition to the title track, “The Unseen” features four other songs: “Love Therapy,” “Roll with Me,” “Play Me” and “Slow Dance.”
Start of something new: While individual MONSTA X members such as Kihyun, I.M and Joohoney have previously ventured into solo projects, Shownu x Hyungwon marks the first subunit to emerge from MONSTA X since the group’s debut in 2015.
MONSTA X’s most recent music release was their mini-album “Reason,” which dropped in January.
Upcoming performances: Shownu x Hyungwon are scheduled to perform at KCON LA on Aug. 18 and as headliners for the Krazy K-pop Super Concert in New York on Aug. 26.
