“Bobaddiction” has just reached a new level in Thailand, where it has now taken the form of a body lotion.
Just in time for the New Year, local beauty brand Mistine launched its Milk Tea Body Lotion, made from actual black tea and milk!
The product comes in a packaging inspired by a real cup of milk tea, with boba at the bottom.
With its unique milk tea scent, the product promises skin so fragrant and smooth users might just want to bite!
Drinking black tea has numerous benefits for the skin. Its vitamins B2, C and E provide nourishment, while its caffeine and other chemical components kill oral viruses, helping to prevent infections (including pimples), according to The Spruce Eats.
Direct contact with black tea, on the other hand, reportedly provides an antioxidant boost and even some sun protection. Teabags placed around the eyes may help reduce puffiness and dark circles.
Aside from moisturizers — which come from its milk component — the lotion contains the vitamin B3 for healthy, “glowy” skin.
According to skincare expert Paula Begoun, vitamin B3, also known as niacinamide, “works with the natural substances in your skin to help visibly improve enlarged pores, uneven skin tone, fine lines and wrinkles, dullness, and a weakened surface.”
The vitamin also improves the skin’s “barrier,” or its first line of defense, against the environment and helps repair signs of previous damage.
“Left unchecked, this type of daily assault makes skin appear older, dull, and less radiant,” Begoun added.
Mistine’s Milk Tea Lotion is available to purchase from its official app or through e-marketplace Lazada for 99 baht or around $3 for a 200-milliliter (6.76-ounce) tube.
The product’s debut ad now has more than a thousand comments on Facebook, with people curious to try it out for themselves.
Facebook users commented:
“What a great idea.”
“I want to eat this right away.”
“Literally a new touch of milk tea.”
“I might be snacking on my arm after a while.”
“Milk is already an excellent ingredient for lotion, so this is promising.”
