Jackie Chan is World’s Most Admired Asian Man, According to Global Survey

An online ranking of the world’s most admired men and women ranked Jackie Chan in third place just behind Microsoft founder Bill Gates and former U.S. President Barack Obama.
The YouGov poll, which aims to determine the world’s most admired people, were compiled with the help of 42,000 people in 41 countries around the world.
The men’s ranking places the action superstar ahead of Chinese President Xi Jinping (fourth) and mogul Jack Ma (fifth). Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi ranked sixth.
In the women’s ranking, Michelle Obama took the top spot, while Oprah Winfrey and actress Angelina Jolie ranked second and third place, respectively.
Xi Jinping’s wife, Peng Liyuan landed on the seventh spot, a slot ahead of former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton (eighth).
Tu Youyou, an 88-year-old Chinese scientist who won the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2015, took the ninth spot, outranking pop star Taylor Swift (10th), singer Madonna (11th) and German Chancellor Angela Merkel (12th).
Other notable rankings on the men’s side include the Dalai Lama in eighth place, ranking between football legends Cristiano Ronaldo (seventh) and Lionel Messi (ninth).
Meanwhile, Tesla CEO Elon Musk, POTUS Donald Trump and Pope Francis ranked 13th, 14th, 15th places, respectively. Hong Kong star Andy Lau also made the cut at number 20.
