Margaret Cho is joining Season 3 of Showtime’s “The L Word: Generation Q” as a guest star, along with Joey Lauren Adams, Joanna Cassidy and Kehlani.
“The L Word: Generation Q” is a continuation of “The L Word,” which ran on Showtime from 2004 to 2009. “Generation Q” follows the diverse LGBTQ friend group 10 years down the line as they experience love, heartbreak, sex, setbacks and success in Los Angeles. Several of the actors from the original show — including Jennifer Beals (Bette), Katherine Moenig (Shane) and Leisha Hailey (Alice) — reprise their roles in the sequel, while plenty of new characters have also been introduced.
Cho will play herself in the upcoming season as a guest host on the “Alice” talk show. Meanwhile, Adams will be playing Taylor, a barista with a secret passion, Cassidy as Tess’ mom Patty and singer Kehlani as Ivy, a young parent who also heads Alice’s glam team as a makeup artist and falls for the wrong person.
