Man’s Facebook Keeps Getting Shut Down Because His Name is Phuc Dat Bich

A Vietnamese-Australian man’s name has gotten him banned so many times from Facebook that he has had to post a picture of his passport to prove it is his real birth name.
Phuc Dat Bich, a 23-year-old Melbourne resident, told his followers on Facebook — which he has been banned from three times — in a post that has since amassed over 135,00 likes: “I find it highly irritating the fact that nobody seems to believe me when I say that my full legal name is how you see it.”
He uploaded a photo of his passport that shows his name as Phuc Dat Bich, which is common in Vietnam. Correctly pronounced, the name approximately sounds like “phook dat bick.”
“I’ve been accused of using a false and misleading name, which I find very offensive,” he wrote. “Is it because I’m Asian? Is it?”
He signed off his message by saying: “Having my fb shut down multiple times and forced to change my name to my ‘real’ name, so just to put it out there. My name. Yours sincerely, Phuc Dat Bich.”
