A Kuwaiti man’s one-night stand with a Moroccan woman in Thailand turned into one rather unpleasant experience after realizing the next day that his three luxury watches were stolen.
Pattaya police arrested 32-year-old Rabia Zrideg for allegedly stealing one Rolex and two Audemars Piguet from Talal Sabah Alsabah, 22, when he fell asleep after having sex with her.
According to Pattaya Online (via Coconuts), the pair had earlier met at a bar in Walking Street before deciding to come back to the man’s condo unit on Tuesday evening.
Alsabah said that after being intimate with the woman, he fell asleep and when he woke up, the woman had already left. He also discovered that his watches worth a total of 500,000 Thailand Baht ($16,000) had also disappeared.
After notifying the authorities on Wednesday, the woman was soon found by officers using surveillance cameras. She reportedly had not gone far and was strolling around Pattaya Mueang 8 School when police caught up with her. Upon the woman’s arrest, the officers found the missing watches in her possession.
At a press conference, Alsabah positively identified the thief who confessed to stealing them. Should the man pursue a case, the woman could face a maximum punishment of three-year prison term or a fine of up to 6,000 baht ($192) for theft.
