Seri Aliff Syukri Kamarzaman, a cosmetics entrepreneur based in Malaysia, was in tears as he watched his Ferrari 458 Italia – worth around 1.8 million Malaysian Ringgit ($442,800) – catch on fire on a highway.
The incident happened on July 26, Thursday, when the supercar, which was being driven by an Australian man at the time, caught on fire on the Kesas Highway, according to the police, The Star reported.
It was said in the statement that the fire started at the exhaust pipe. After realizing this, the driver immediately pulled the Ferrari in the emergency lane, only to be engulfed in flames later on. The Subang Jaya Fire and Rescue Station was called in and extinguished the flaming supercar.
A day after the incident, the 30-year-old cosmetics entrepreneur and actor posted a video showing him in tears as he witness his car in flames.
“I am a weak man… please strengthen my spirit, ya Allah. What should I do, my beloved car was bought for RM 1.8mil,” he said in the caption, as translated by The Star.
Aliff also admitted in the comment section that the car was his, but refused to speculate how it exactly happened. As of now, he hands over the investigation to the authorities to determine what exactly caused the vehicle to burst up in flames.
