A video footage of a dog running beside a convoy for a funeral procession went viral on the internet.
According to Stomp, the dog from Kampong Air Jernih, Terengganu, Malaysia walked and ran approximately 3 kilometers (1.8 miles) just to be able to be with his deceased owner for the very last time.
In the post by user Leong Khai Wai, the dog can be seen chasing after the convoy and running on the side of the road until it reached the cemetary. The faithful dog was even pictured laying on the cemetery ground, near the grave where his owner will rest.
While many online users were deeply touched by the dog’s loyalty, many can’t help but criticize the people who weren’t bothered to even give the dog a ride on the way to the cemetery.
“They should at least give the dog a ride. It only wanted to be with its owner, that’s why it didn’t mind walking for a long distance. Poor dog,” said one.
At the moment, the fate of the dog remains unclear. Hopefully, it will be welcomed by a new home where it will get the kind of loving it generously gives.
