Man Caught on Video Having Racist Meltdown Towards Asian Couple on London Train
A male passenger aboard a London train subjected an Asian couple to a racist tirade last week, telling them to “get back to your own country, you cunts!”
The unidentified man, who was described as having a Scottish accent, reportedly kept harassing the couple for about 10 minutes.
A stunned passenger on the 5 p.m. Great Western Railway (GWR) train from London Paddington to Bristol recorded the incident on November 14 and submitted the video to the Bristol Post.
In the footage, the man can be heard telling the couple, “I’ll fuckin’ destroy you, you cunts” and “fuck you, you Chinese cunts.”
According to the passenger, some passengers tried to intervene while others left the carriage to avoid confrontation.
As the man was hurling expletives at the couple, the male victim ran away from the aggressor screaming while the woman followed him in tears.
The passenger who recorded the scene also forwarded the footage along to the Bristol police.
“BTP are aware of a video posted on social media last night (15/11) showing a man being racially abusive to passengers on a Paddington to Bristol Temple Meads service,” a spokesperson of the British Transport Police (BTP) said in a statement.
“Officers are currently investigating the incident and would ask anyone who witnessed the abuse, or the events leading up to it, to contact them by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 558 of 14/11/18.”
Meanwhile, a representative for GWR also condemned the incident, stating, “This is not acceptable behavior, and we will fully support the investigation by the British Transport Police.”
Many people might not know this, but despite our large and loyal following which we are immensely grateful for, NextShark is still a small bootstrapped startup that runs on no outside funding or loans.
Everything you see today is built on the backs of warriors who have sacrificed opportunities to help give Asians all over the world a bigger voice.
However, we still face many trials and tribulations in our industry, from figuring out the most sustainable business model for independent media companies to facing the current COVID-19 pandemic decimating advertising revenues across the board.
We hope you consider making a contribution so we can continue to provide you with quality content that informs, educates and inspires the Asian community.
Even a $1 contribution goes a long way. Thank you for everyone’s support. We love you all and can’t appreciate you guys enough.
