Is That Lewis Tan as Shatterstar in the ‘Deadpool 2’ Trailer? Is That Lewis Tan as Shatterstar in the ‘Deadpool 2’ Trailer?
The Super Bowl spot for “Deadpool 2” revealed tons of surprises and we are all totally hyped up, but there’s one detail in particular that caught our eye: Is that Lewis Tan in the background as one of the members of X-Force?
There was a brief moment in the trailer where we get to see the entire X-Force team (aka the edgier, better X-Men) getting ready to leap out of a plane.
At the 1:39 mark, we got to see the sequel’s new comic book characters such as Zazie Beetz as Domino, Terry Crews as G.W. Bridge, and an unidentified actor as playing Zeitgeist.
It also shows the possible inclusion of our favorite actor from Netflix’ “Iron Fist” — Lewis Tan.
Tan, who has been mesmerizing fans with his character Gaius Chau in “Into the Badlands”, has got netizens abuzz about him playing the role of Shatterstar.
Shatterstar is Marvel’s time-traveling, sword-wielding, genetically engineered warrior from another dimension who is one of the founding members of X-Force.
Twitter user HELLB0YES was the first to spot the character and point out why it could be Tan playing the role, according to ScreenRant.
He tweeted a side by side of an image of Shatterstar from the trailer and Tan, including the actor’s Twitter activity hinting that he’s also part of the cast.
It is worth noting that while Shatterstar in the trailer may resemble Tan, he has yet to confirm whether it was actually him we’re seeing or we are just being wishful thinking.
However, Tan has earlier been observed to be liking multiple Shatterstar related images, although he appears to have since unliked them after netizens started noticing.
Some have pointed out that near the end of November, Tan tweeted that he recently worked with Lewis on a project. Incidentally, “Deadpool 2” wrapped in October.
While a confirmation would be awesome, we will find this out sooner or later anyway as “Deadpool 2” is set to hit theaters on May 18, 2018.
