Aspiring Model Arrested For Murdering Canadian Man

Laurie Phan, a hopeful model who competed in the ATV Miss Asia Toronto Pageant, has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder.
On Monday, the same day the York Regional Police issued a Canada-wide warrant for the 22-year-old’s arrest, Phan turned herself in.
Phan had no fixed address and is one of two suspects charged in the killing of Noel Williams, 27, who was shot inside his Markham, Ontario, home on February 10, CBC News reported.
Police were called to the scene a little after 1 a.m. and found Williams suffering from gunshot wounds before he was rushed to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Phan still has an old modeling profile on a networking site called Model Mayhem, where she said she wanted to start her career after taking part in the ATV Miss Asia Toronto pageant.
I’ve always wanted to get into modeling but never had the chance to,” she wrote on her profile. “After this experience it encouraged me to pursue it. I don’t have much experience but I’m a very motivated and determined person.
Her profile says that she studied nursing, but no updates have been made since July 2016.
I’m interested in fashion, glamour, hair/makeup, promotional modeling, runway, fit modeling and swimwear shoots,” Phan added.
Jasper Atienza, 28, of Richmond Hill, was charged on April 19 with first-degree murder in the killing of Williams.
The York Regional Police investigation is still ongoing.
