With a new year comes a new racist slur from one Las Vegas woman to her Filipino neighbor.
On New Year’s Eve, Dexter Manawat, of Filipino descent, recorded a video where an unidentified female neighbor is heard calling him and his people “orange savages.”
What started as an argument over leaves escalated to the woman’s racist tirade, which Manawat later shared on Facebook.
The angry woman is heard shouting:
“Orange mother*cker! Go back to where you came from!”
When Manawat asked where she thought he was from, she had an elaborate answer:
“From some piece of sh*t, Manila-ass, f*cking ghetto living under a tarp piece of sh*t land. You’re just like one f*cking generation out of the jungle, like f*cking loin-cloth wearers!”
The woman also said he’s “too busy populating the world with more of your trashy people.”
“If it weren’t for Teddy Roosevelt needing a f—ing port in the Philippines, you’d be speaking Chinese or Russian now,” she added.
Both were interviewed by KTNV. Manawat said he was never called “orange” and the encounter with his neighbor was the first time.
Meanwhile, the woman, afraid of retaliation, apologized and explained that she “wasn’t raised that way.”
She told the outlet:
“I stooped to the lowest possible denominator to hurt someone because I was angry.”
The woman added that her anger was not directed at all Filipinos but only to Manawat, whom she’s had issues with for years.
Manawat has taken the video down. He wrote in an update:
“When this video was put out, my intentions really was to reach out to my neighbor and protect my family. As absurd as that sounds, it was hard to approach her even though she lived right across from me. I wanted to reach out to her and thru all her hatred, to tell her that how she berates me, my family, and my culture is not right… So, the video was put out and now what I was hoping for has happened. It has reached her. She is now aware of her wrong doings.”
