Netflix drops trailer for ‘Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight’ Season 2

“Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight” is back for a second season with new characters, more adventures and everyone’s favorite giant panda.
IGN debuted the show’s Season 2 trailer and shared casting news on Wednesday. 

The official synopsis for Season 2 states: “Pursuit of the villainous weasels Klaus and Veruca and the powerful Tianshiang weapons has Po venture outside of China for the first time with a motley crew of warriors, including the fierce Wandering Blade, the slippery Rukhmini, and loyal Mr. Ping.

“From a museum heist in India to a volcanic eruption in Central America, the heroes face danger at every turn on their journey to unravel the secrets surrounding Blade’s brother and his connection to the magical weapons,” the synopsis continues.

“And finally, as the team of warriors begins a long journey to England, Po tells a story explaining Chinese new year customs and traditions to elevate the crew’s spirits in a Lunar New Year special.”

Taking place a few years after “Kung Fu Panda 3” and “Kung Fu Panda: The Paws of Destiny,” the Netflix series, which is produced by DreamWorks Animation Television, stars Jack Black as beloved protagonist Po. Season 1 premiered on Netflix on July 14.
According to IGN, Season 2 will also feature Rita Ora as Wandering Blade, James Hong as Mr. Ping, Chris Geere as Klaus Dumont, Della Saba as Veruca Dumont, Rahnuma Panthaky as Rukhmini and Ed Weeks as Colin. Harvey Gullien, Richard Ayoade, Melissa Villasignor and Shohreh Aghdashloo will make special guest appearances.
“Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight” Season 2 will be available to stream on Netflix starting on Jan. 12, 2023.
