A devoted Korean wife and mother on TikTok who has been documenting her life as a caretaker for her bedridden husband revealed on Jun. 27 that he has died.
Kim, known as @blackbeltmom67, is well known on TikTok for her videos sharing her experiences as a caretaker for her bedridden husband. With over 520,000 followers, Kim had been taking care of her husband for the past 10 years after he suffered two strokes in 2012 that left him paralyzed.
In March of last year, Kim’s husband survived a third stroke and received a tracheostomy, an opening created at the front of the neck to insert a tube that helps with breathing.
Kim often uploaded comedic videos where she entertained her husband with light-hearted dance routines and TikTok dance challenges. In the days leading up to his death, Kim had been posting about her husband’s 14-day hospitalization where he was receiving treatment for various health concerns, including an infection, constipation and pneumonia.
On Jun. 27, Kim revealed that her husband had died at 1:30 p.m. and uploaded a video montage of old photos of her husband before he became ill. The comment section was flooded with users extending their condolences and reminding Kim that she has been an inspiration to many.

@blackbeltmom67I didn’t have time to mourn for FIL and my mom’s death when they passed because I still had to take care of my husband. My husband took his last breath on monday and I can’t mourn because I want to be strong for my kids.♬ original sound – Ailyn.Arellano
