The shooting: Jiang, a Yale University graduate student and a U.S. Army veteran, was shot to death at the corner of Lawrence and Nicoll Streets in New Haven, Connecticut on Feb. 6.

The 26-year-old was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds to his head, neck, torso and extremities.
Some neighbors reported hearing the gunshots, while others reported seeing a black shiny vehicle flee the area.
A week after his death, Jiang, who was born in Seattle and raised in Chicago, was laid to rest at the State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown, Connecticut by fellow National Guard members, reported WTNH.

Suspect arrested: Qinxuan Pan, 30, was arrested in Montgomery, Alabama without incident on Friday morning.

Pan, a Shanghai-born U.S. citizen, was initially named as a person-of-interest, then a suspect, in the alleged murder.
He is an MIT graduate and worked at the university’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL), according to his Facebook profile.
He was last seen in the early morning hours on Feb. 11 driving with family members in Brookhaven or Duluth in Georgia.
The search for his whereabouts expanded nationwide in March, and by April, the U.S. Marshals — which offered a $10,000 reward for his arrest — secured an international wanted persons notice through Interpol.
Pan, who is being held at the Montgomery County Detention Center, is expected to return to Connecticut to face murder and second-degree larceny charges. It is unclear whether he has an attorney, reported NBC.

A GoFundMe page set up for Jiang’s family has raised $21,180 as of this writing.
