Korean American K-pop idol AleXa will join the cast of the animated series “Ghosts of Ruin” by content studio Battle Island.
About the project: “Ghosts of Ruin” takes place in a gritty dystopian world where gaming meets advanced technology, allowing players to feel their games. The series revolves around Ruin, a neural reality battle royale tournament where gamers come together to compete. However, a rogue program emerges, transforming their paradise into a living nightmare.
The cast: “American Song Contest” winner AleXa will star alongside Justin Long, “Saturday Night Live” comedian Michael Longfellow, “The Mandalorian” and “Ahsoka” actor Rosario Dawson and Tony Revolori from Marvel‘s “Spider-Man” trilogy.
AleXa will play Juggernaut, a flippant and incredibly energetic gamer and content creator. Long will play Marcus, a highly skilled entrepreneur and visionary who serves as the CEO of the tech company that holds ownership over Ruin. Longfellow will bring life to Assassin, a world-renowned esports athlete with a large fan base. Revolori will lend his voice to Lee, a small-time gamer and streamer who unexpectedly finds himself thrust into the tournament due to a sudden opening. Meanwhile, Dawson will portray Prism, a professional gamer intent on becoming the unquestioned champion of the world.
Production and crew: The series was created by PJ Accetturo and Ryan Ramsey. Michael Ramey, Katie Stippec and showrunner Michael Ryan all serve as executive producers. “Ghosts of Ruin” includes an original score composed by Bleeding Fingers Music, a company founded by renowned composer Hans Zimmer. 
Release date: “Ghosts of Ruin” is scheduled for a fall release via the website Gala Film.
