Jared Fogle, the former spokesperson for Subway, is now ironically serving sandwiches in his new job in prison.
Fogle has been assigned cafeteria duties at Federal Correctional Institution Englewood where his main task is serving sandwiches at the end of the cafeteria line, according to TMZ.
Fogle was slammed with a lawsuit and sentenced to 15 years in prison after admitting to having sex with underage girls and collecting child porn. While serving time, the sex offender was beaten up by 60-year-old Steven Nigg in January. Nigg, a former armed robber serving time behind bars in Colorado, allegedly attacked Fogle because he attempted to buy bodyguards in jail. The New York Post reported that Nigg also claimed to have done it for Fogle’s victims’ families.
After the incident, officials made the decision to move Fogle from the inmate cafeteria to the correctional officers’ cafeteria. The transfer is considered a “promotion” as the officers’ cafeteria is reportedly higher-end and serves food such as steaks.
The former “Subway Guy” and weight loss sensation has reportedly gained at least 30 pounds as his prison diet consists of sugary foods.
