Japan’s Nippon TV licenses 13 popular anime series to Netflix

Leading Japanese entertainment company Nippon TV has licensed 13 of its popular anime series to Netflix to be streamed non-exclusively on the platform.

The anime titles, listed in order of Netflix’s release date, include the following:

“Hunter x Hunter,” (38 episodes)

“Ouran High School Host Club”

“Claymore”

“Death Note” (37 episodes)

“Death Note: Relight 1”

“Death Note: Relight 2”

“From Me to You” (25 episodes)

“From Me to You 2nd Season” (13 episodes)

“Berserk” (25 episodes)

“Parasyte-the Maxim” (24 episodes)

“Nana” (47 episodes)

“Hajime no Ippo: The Fighting!” (76 episodes)

Monster” (74 episodes)

The first three titles — “Hunter x Hunter,” “Ouran High School Host Club” and “Claymore” — will be released this year on Sept. 2. Some of the series will be more widely available than others, with “Ouran High School Host Club” scheduled to be available in 190 countries while “Death Note: Relight 2” will only be accessible in 14.

Previously, Nippon TV has licensed 30 of its most popular live-action shows for Netflix to release within Asian countries. Its biggest drama series “Old Enough” was made available in 190 countries.
