Japanese Photographer Captures Cats Wearing Hats Made of Their Own Fur
By Ryan General
Cats who love wearing hats made of fur have recently taken over Japanese social media.
Thanks to photographer Ryo Yamazaki, the owner of three cute kitties named Nya, Maru, and Mugi, the beauty of hat-wearing cats has been pushed into the spotlight on Instagram.
While there may be others out there who have similarly exploited feline cuteness on Instagram, Yamazaki’s Scottish Fold cats stand out because of their unique accessory of choice.
Using fur that the cats themselves have grown and shed, the creative photographer creates eye-catching headpieces, reported RocketNews24.
Since the cats come in differently colored coats, he is able to “harvest” three fur colors: grey fur from Nya, pure white from Maru and from the youngest Mugi comes the slightly golden wheat color.
Due to the cats’ growing number of fans, the owner decided it would be interesting to show how the fur balls are made via a short video.

Yamazaki then turns the fur balls into a variety of hats for his kitties to wear.
Nya, the oldest of the bunch at 9 years old, sports an acorn hat in this photo:
Two-year-old Mugi, the youngest, poses confidently as President-elect Donald Trump. In the caption, Yamazaki writes, the cat’s face says: “I will build a great wall of boxes in my room, and I will make my owner pay for that wall.”

Mugi’s older sibling, Maru, who is now 7 years old, wears his whipped cream topping of a hat with slight remorse.
Together, they all look fabulous in their fashionable headpieces.
Not just internet-famous, the trio of Nya, Maru and Mugi, are also included in the works of Yamazaki where they are featured in the “Cat Holiday Exhibition” in the Parco Shopping Centre in Hiroshima. The exhibit will be on display from November 18 to December 5.
