Japan recently held its first virtual reality porn festival, but the event was prematurely cut due to overcrowding.
Unfortunately, the festival had an unprecedented crowding that extended to the street outside the venue. Some even thought that disorder could occur if organizers failed to keep things under control. Once and for all, the festival was called off.
Staff behind the event were allegedly in tears, clearly not expecting that the pilot occasion will turn bitter. But this goes to prove that size indeed matters, at least in accommodating people. VR porn enthusiasts just want to have fun.
About 20 individuals were able to get inside, Daily Mail noted, but many were apparently disappointed for not getting a chance to try available attractions.
A blogger who failed to get inside the venue wrote (translated via VR Talk), “The event didn’t start until 2 PM, so I went there in high spirits an hour before then, but the city was already overflowing with people. There were so many that it was almost impossible to keep the situation under control.”
“While waiting for my friends, I couldn’t help but think that if they couldn’t control the mass of people, a riot or something similar could happen. The 20 lucky guys closest to the building were let in by the staff. I’m sure there was a line inside the building that rivaled the one outside,” the informer went on.
One notable attraction was a box that blew air in an attempt to mimic the sensation of fondling breasts. There is also an inflatable doll, which seems to be the virtual upgrade for the ones currently out in the market.
Adult VR Fest 01 was set in Akihabara, Tokyo, a district popular for its arcades and stores. The event is expected to make a comeback next month, Upload VR said, and fans might well expect a bigger venue.
