Cosplayers who wish to turn their hobby to a paying career can now sign up on Japan’s Cosplay Agency, a new service that connects them to clients.
The agency is created by Dwango, the company behind Japan’s Nico Nico Douga streaming service, and is open to both local and foreign cosplayers.
Interested parties must sign up and complete a profile page, which will allow them to feature their best photos for prospective clients to check out.
They can also include other special skills, such as singing, dancing, and hosting — all of which prove to be useful in anime conventions and other cosplay-centric events.
English proficiency and amenability to travel may also be indicated.
Meanwhile, clients can make use of filters to narrow their search for the best cosplayer to suit their needs.
Cosplay Agency promises to manage everything, from casting to contracting, event planning, and other services, as per IT Media.
If you’re a cosplayer currently in Japan and looking for a gig, then this could be for you. Check out the agency’s website here.
