A Japanese artist named Rokudenashiko was arrested on charges of obscenity for crowdfunding a 3D printed kayak shaped like her vagina.

Her real name is Megumi Igarashi and she she allegedly broke obscenity laws by scanning her vagina and sending the 3D printer data to over 30 people. In Japan, it is illegal to sell, distribute, or display “obscene objects,” and she was sending her “personal data” to those who contributed to the “pussy kayak” crowdfunding campaign. Sounds like a pretty good crowdfunding idea…

Why would she send 3D data on her vagina to people? Japan has some conservative obscenity laws, especially where the vagina is concerned. The vagina is a rather taboo topic, and words like “manko,” or “pussy”, are extremely vulgar words. Rokudenashiko is basically trying to promote vagina awareness through her art.

“Vagina has been thought to be obscene because it has been overly hidden; although it is just a part of a woman’s body… I wanted to make the vagina more ‘casual’.”

So just how they love to celebrate penises in Japan every year, which obviously isn’t a taboo topic, Rokudenashiko makes “pussy” art from molds of her vagina. Who knew you could make the vagina so artsy?

Her pièce de résistance however was her “pussy boat.” She discovered she could use a 3D printer to capture the exact shape of her vagina to make a kayak out of it. Once it was complete, she took it for a spin in the Tama River between Tokyo and Kanagawa.

She’s not stopping there either. According to Buzzfeed, Rokudenashiko has plans for a pussy bed, a pussy door, and a pussy car. You could say she’s about that pussy life.

She is quoted by the police to defend herself by saying, “I don’t think this is obscene.”

According to the report, the 42-year old artist (I know, she looks good, right?) is currently being held in Tokyo and there is a Change.org petition for her release and for the abolishment of the ridiculous obscenity laws.
