When a wedding makes it to the news without the benefit of a celebrity, there must be something grand taking place.
The wedding of 26-year-old Karna Radheya and 21-year-old girl Polly Alexandria Robinson not only made headlines worldwide, but nearly broke the internet when their wedding images emerged on social media.
Radheya, an Indonesian surf instructor and restaurant owner, says he is not sure why his marriage to Robinson, an English woman from Manchester, would go viral, according to the World of Buzz.
“My only intention is to make our relationship halal. But since our story has already gone viral, I hope it will be an inspirational tale for netizens,” he was quoted as saying.

According to local media, the pair had been together for some time before they decided to exchange vows in a simple Muslim wedding ceremony on Sunday (Dec 16).
In the video of the ceremony that became widely circulated on social media, the young bride is seen smiling happily while wearing a white dress and a pink shawl covering her head. Beside Robinson is her groom, who is shown attentively listening to the person officiating the wedding.
Radheya met Robinson while he was working in Bali over a year ago in August 2017. The pair reportedly got along immediately, resulting in multiple other meetings. After a few months of getting to know each other, they eventually fell in love and became a couple.
They decided to pursue their relationship even after Robinson returned to England. And while there were those who doubted their long-distance relationship, the couple’s feelings for each other grew even stronger.

It did not take long before Robinson decided to convert to Islam, six months ahead of their plan to tie the knot in Radheya’s hometown of Magelang in Indonesia.
While the wedding was attended mainly by Radheya’s family, it was reported that Robinson’s family had given their support and blessings to the couple as well.
“This is fate. I never asked for a foreign wife but God has decided that Polly should be my wife and I am truly thankful for this,” Radheya was quoted as saying.
After the wedding, the couple returned to Bali, where they are currently living as husband and wife. Radheya said he is now applying for citizenship for his new wife.
