Both filmmakers reunited at London’s West End to stage a critically acclaimed musical version of “Bend It Like Beckham” in 2015.
Chadha was nominated twice for an Alexander Korda Award for Best British Film at the BAFTA Awards for her work on “Bend It Like Beckham” and the 1993 film “Bhaji on the Beach.”
Her other credits include “Beecham House,” “Viceroy’s House” and “Desi Rascals.” Her most recent movie was 2019’s “Blinded by the Light,” about a 16-year-old Pakistani boy in 1987 England whose life is changed when he discovers Bruce Springstein’s music.
