India Throws Herd of Donkeys in Jail After They Destroy $931 Worth of Plants

A herd of misbehaving donkeys were imprisoned in India for four days after they destroyed 60,000 rupees ($931) worth of “very expensive plants.”
While the donkeys were simply doing what they do, it was their owner Kamlesh who was actually getting punished. According to MailOnline, Kamlesh was warned not to let his donkeys loose since they were known for causing mischief in the area.
Orai jail superintendent Sita Ram Sharma revealed that there is “no such law” where they could arrest donkeys even if they were misbehaving. However, Sharma explained that the asses were “confined for four days to teach a lesson to their owner who did not pay attention to our warnings.”
Kamlesh then pleaded for the release of his beloved yet mischievous donkeys and was even aided by a local politician who helped pay for the bail. Fortunately for Kamlesh, his eight donkeys were eventually freed from prison but it wasn’t an easy ordeal before the owner could finally save his herd.
“We let go of the animals on Monday only after Kamlesh gave us a written affidavit that from now on he will not allow his animals to roam in residential areas or places of public importance,” Superintendent Sharma explained.
It seems that these herd of bad asses would rather be living a life of crime instead of just sitting on their hides all day. Meanwhile, being imprisoned might not be a such a bad thing for these donkeys considering that other asses in a certain Chinese zoo are only being used as live bait for tigers.
