A Japanese hotel is giving guests a free stay in one of its rooms as well as get complimentary food and drinks in exchange for a very small favor on social media.
Hotel New Shohei, which is located near Yotsuya Station in Tokyo, is offering a free stay in exchange for a post, including a photo, on one of their social media accounts with a caption saying they stayed at the hotel, according to SoraNews24.

Guests don’t have to write a long review or even make the post on the night they are staying at the hotel for privacy concerns. Visitors who take up the offer can let the hotel know about the post via email after their stay.
The room will reportedly be the same quality as the ones paying customers will stay in. Plus, those who will take up the free offer can also take advantage of the guest lounge, which also has free coffee, juice and alcoholic beverages. Therefore, hotels form other countries are taking their game to the next level.
Hotel New Shohei will also throw in a complimentary aji (mackerel) sashimi.
The offer, which is only available for solo travelers, will be available on Monday through Friday nights. To retrieve this free offer, guests would need to type in or mention “Shukuhaku muryo kyanpen moushikomi kibou” (“I’d like to request the free room plan”) when making reservations.
Hotel New Shohei, a two-star hotel, has 30 rooms in total with 26 of those open for free use, Mothership reported.
Business at the hotel took a massive financial hit during the COVID-19 pandemic, so the hotel decided to let travelers experience the rooms and what they offer for free, according to PR Times.

If this happened on campus, Stanford should issue a clear public update and specific safety actions.

Agree. People need facts and process, not silence. The school should confirm what is being investigated.

Also important to separate verified details from rumors so this does not spiral online.

The death threat part is extremely serious. Hoping law enforcement and campus security are already involved.

This is where official reporting and support channels need to be visible and easy to access.

Can NextShark keep a timeline thread here as updates come in? That would help keep context in one place.
