Artist’s Brutal Illustrations Show How Hong Kong is Different From China
An anonymous Hong Kong designer has the internet in a frenzy after posting less-than-friendly illustrations that depict the differences between China and Hong Kong to Local Studio HK’s Facebook page.
The designer’s illustrations, which heavily favor Hong Kong, cover social, economic and cultural differences between the two societies.
According to the anonymous designer, the 22 illustrations are meant to, “Mourn the fact that Hong Kong has been ‘colonized’ by mainland China” and to “tell the world about the differences between Hong Kongers and Chinese people”.
Do you agree with the stereotypes? Or do you think the artist only matched up the best of Hong Kong with the worst of China?
