Hillary Clinton’s new website selling Clinton-emblazoned novelty campaign items is now open.
On the site — which proudly urges visitors, “Kick off campaign season in style! Show your support for Hillary wherever you go” — one item that’s now trending is a T-shirt design that resembles those fake tuxedo T-shirts that are kind of funny but which you’d probably never wear in public.
The red “Everyday Pantsuit Tee,” which costs $30, features a printed graphic of a suit jacket on the front side that’s accessorized with a string of pearls and an “H” pin on the label. On the back is the tagline “Pantsuit Up.” The shirts are said to bring “a whole new meaning to casual Friday,” and just in case you were wondering, they are American made and “Union Printed.”
To raise money for her campaign, Clinton is also hawking baseball caps, canvas bags, pint glasses and hoodies, among other things. If you bought everything in the store, you’d be fitted head to toe with Hillary Clinton merchandise.
And that’s entirely the point, given that a political candidate isn’t really running until their name is stuck on signs and staked to the ground in front of homes, pinned onto lapels, stickered onto bumpers and stitched onto clothing.
Clinton will make her first official campaign speech on June 13. While we’re not sure why everyone’s talking about the Hillary tee,  those who want to show support have a little over two weeks to go shopping. Those who don’t can reflect on why a coffee mug on the website costs 20 bucks.
