Heroic Chinese Surgeon Collapses After Performing Surgery for 28 Hours Straight

A Chinese surgeon is now being hailed as a hero on social media after performing surgery for 28 hours straight.

The selfless doctor, named Luo Heng, was so exhausted after taking in patient after patient that his body finally gave in and ended up collapsing and falling into a deep slumber on the hospital floor in Dingyuan County, Anhui province.

Luo reportedly performed five operations in total from March 29-30. According to People’s Daily Online (via Daily Mail), he did two of the surgeries during his shift and then did three more operations into the next day.

During his much-needed rest after all the hard work, someone took his image and uploaded it on Chinese social media.

Netizens expressed their admiration for the surgeon, with many calling him a hero for his sacrifice. Others, however, were concerned about his health and how many breaks doctors need to be fully rested.

“I salute you, you have worked hard,” a Weibo user was quoted as saying.

“I hope the media do not promote this. A doctor is not only a career, but a doctor is also a person,” another one added.

“The most charming man,” praised another netizen.
