Filipino actor, painter and socialite Heart Evangelista made a cameo appearance in the third season of Netflix’s “Bling Empire,” much to the delight of fans worldwide.
Series regular Kane Lim confirmed Evangelista’s appearance in an Instagram Story post hours before the season premiere on Wednesday. The video from August 2021 showed Lim, Evangelista and “Bling Empire” co-star Kelly Mi Li in front of a Chanel store in Los Angeles.
“Philippines, you asked for it, you got it! Guess who will be in ‘Bling Empire’ Season 3. Tune in tonight!” Lim wrote in the caption, tagging Evangelista.
In a follow-up Story post, Lim revealed that he had kept Evangelista’s cameo a secret for “many months.” He said he is proud to shine with Evangelista, whom he described as “the No. 1 Filipino actress x fashion icon” and “one of the kindest persons I know.”
Evangelista appears at the beginning of the ninth episode of the season, with Lim throwing a Filipino-inspired party for her.
“It was a fun cameo,” Evangelista tweeted shortly after the season premiere. “Thank you ‘Bling Empire’ for the sweetest party. To Kane and Kelly, you are angels.”
Evangelista previously auditioned for the role of Araminta Lee in “Crazy Rich Asians.” She revealed in an interview that author Kevin Kwan specifically requested she audition.
While Evangelista did not get the role — which ultimately went to Japanese British actor Sonoya Mizuno — she and Kwan became good friends. Kwan wrote the foreword of her fashion book, “Styled With Heart.”
