A woman has expressed gratitude to her group of male friends for saving her from a chainsaw “killer” at a horror attraction in northwestern China.
The scene, which was caught on video, took place at a haunted escape room in Shaanxi province last October, but the moment in question has only gone viral in recent weeks.
As seen in the video, a “killer” with a chainsaw chases a group of players around the escape room, which carried a hospital theme.
The players, who wore matching striped pajamas, ran frantically at the sound of the revving chainsaw.
Terrified, the female teammate fell on the floor at one point, after seeing the “killer”.
However, her friends — one in particular — chose to drag her along with them until the very end.
According to Sina News, the group ran a total of at least five laps before the woman’s pants were worn out.
While the group ultimately failed to escape, a member accidentally hit the “killer” with a door earlier in the game.
“When we were in there, we weren’t just scared, we were horrified,” a man in the group said, according to the South China Morning Post. “The sound of the chainsaw revving up was terrifying.”
“The passage was very narrow. She’s pretty small and fell in the chaos,” the participant said about the woman. “As she fell, one of us said he would hold her hand. So he didn’t let go.”
The clip, which went viral after being reposted last week, has netizens thinking of escape rooms as the ultimate test for friendships.
Weibo users commented:
“It takes strength to be able to drag someone at a situation like this.”
“Well, this friend is not bad. If I’m in danger, I’d reconsider helping.”
“I guess dragging someone is a good thing, after all.”
“I think this guy dragging is actually a sissy.”
“Don’t laugh! This is true love.”
