An elderly man in Malaysia has gone viral on Twitter for shedding tears over his granddaughter who had to leave after a quick visit.
The video, shared by his granddaughter Mija (@ngehngehngeh), shows the man looking morose as he tries to accept that she must return to the big city.
In the video, Mija can be heard teasing her grandfather, who looks away from the camera with tears in his eyes.
The teasing continues in another video, which shows her grandfather wiping away his tears with his bare hands.
Mija lives in Shah Alam, the state capital of Selangor in Peninsular Malaysia. Apparently, her grandfather will not be able to see her again until December, according to Asia One.
“Day by day my tokwan (grandfather) gets more sensitive,” Mija wrote, according to World of Buzz. “Back then he was a tough and hardcore person, but lately, he has become a bit more sensitive.”
Mija, who has since made her Twitter account private, reportedly received comments from users who related to her story.
“After seeing your video of your tokwan, I am reminded of my late grandfather who would pack me an assortment of goodies to take back to Kuala Lumpur.”
“He reminded me of my grandfather. I really miss him especially when watching your video.”
