GOT7’s Youngjae stokes K-pop fans’ anticipation with teaser image for his solo album

     Choi Young-jae, a member of K-pop boy group GOT7, released a teaser image for his upcoming debut solo album. 

    “Sunshine”: Choi, known as Youngjae, 25, released a teaser image for his solo album on Sept. 23, months after the K-pop group he belonged to, GOT7, left their entertainment agency, JYP Entertainment, of seven years.

    • Youngjae, who goes by the name Ars as a producer, is releasing his first solo album on Oct. 5 called “Colors from Ars.” 
    • The album will be released under his new agency Sublime Artist Agency, which also represents legendary singer Rain and “Parasite” actor Song Kang-ho
    • On Sept. 16, Youngjae released a teaser video for his upcoming album and has since also been steadily releasing promotional images much to the anticipation of his fanbase.

    • Youngjae previously talked about his upcoming mini-album and his hopes for it in July. “As a singer, I want to show an even better side of me and a really cool performance,” he said, according to Soompi
    • And while he is mostly known for his angelic vocals, he also dipped his toes into the acting space recently with a musical and a Netflix sitcom called “So Not Worth It,” according to Forbes

    “Never Ever”: Even though the boy group left JYP Entertainment in January and are all now a part of different agencies, they have vowed that they will never break up, NME reported. 

    • The youngest member of GOT7, Yugyeom, told NME, “We can say confidently to our fans that this is not the end for us.”  
    • On Feb. 20, the group released “Encore,” a song written by member Jinyoung and their first since leaving their old agency.
    • Youngjae told L’Official Hommes, “I miss the days when I was active as a group. When I miss the members, I look up a lot of old videos.” 
    • GOT7 fans are rooting for Youngjae’s solo success, with one user writing on Twitter, “OMG we been waiting so long and patient for this…Missed hearing your voice” and another writing, “yes! Please don’t forget to support the debut solo album of youngjae!”
