(G)I-dle has made their comeback with the release of their first full album “I Never Die” after a year away and after the loss of a member.
Along with the album drop today, Cube Entertainment’s K-pop girl group sensation also released their music video for lead single “Tomboy.”
The album’s title track “Tomboy” incorporates sounds reminiscent of punk rock with a strong message of girl power. Of the eight songs, (G)I-dle leader Soyeon is credited with co-writing and composing all but one. Fellow group member Minnie’s name is also mentioned several times in the credits.
Since its release less than a day ago, the music video for “Tomboy” on YouTube has reached nearly 7.5 million views and is currently trending at No. 3 on the site.
It is the group’s first release in over a year and the first work without their sixth member, Soojin, who left in August of last year.
Fans let the group know on their Instagram account that Soojin’s absence was felt with countless comments stating, “I miss Soojin.” Others commented with the broken heart and crying face emojis.
