Animal Shelter Celebrates After All of Their Pets Get Adopted

An animal shelter in Fort Wayne, Indiana, definitely had cause for a celebration after all their pets were adopted during a Black Friday deal.
Puppy adoptions, which usually go for $100, were discounted to $10 for the Black Friday special. In addition, customers were able to name their own price on cats. Jodi Hamilton from the Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control told CBS 6:
“It brought out people in droves. Hundreds of people came by that day and we adopted all of our available pets that day. It’s actually very exciting. I know that people waiting to visit our dogs this morning were very disappointed, but it was such an exciting thing for us because it’s so rare that we have adopted all of the dogs that we had available for adoption. They’ve all gone home. It’s so beautiful and wonderful for all of us to see that happen.”
All in all, approximately 30 dogs and cats found loving homes after the Thanksgiving holiday. It is joyous news indeed, but the work is not over yet for those at the shelter. Hamilton continued:
“There’s always something to do, we have dogs available in the back that we’re temperament testing currently for the potential to come into our adoption program. The majority of the time, the kennels are full. So this is kind of a really fun moment for all of us to celebrate and kind of stop and take a deep breath and say wow, this is why we’re here.”

If this happened on campus, Stanford should issue a clear public update and specific safety actions.

Agree. People need facts and process, not silence. The school should confirm what is being investigated.

Also important to separate verified details from rumors so this does not spiral online.

The death threat part is extremely serious. Hoping law enforcement and campus security are already involved.

This is where official reporting and support channels need to be visible and easy to access.

Can NextShark keep a timeline thread here as updates come in? That would help keep context in one place.
