By Ryan General
Passersby near a sidewalk in Queens, New York were shocked to discover a man in a medical mask apparently passed out on the street.
Local authorities arrived at the scene in the Flushing neighborhood at 1:28 p.m. on Tuesday to attend to the man who appeared to have fainted on Main Street. The man, described to be an Asian man between 20-25 years old, reportedly hit his head on the sidewalk as he fell.
Video clips emerged on social media showing the still-unidentified man lying on the sidewalk near the intersection of Main Street and Roosevelt Avenue.
While details surrounding the man’s condition are still unavailable, concerns were raised that this could be connected to coronavirus, MailOnline reports.
Twitter user Yang Zhanqing, who uploaded the video, wrote: “I don’t know if it is related to the new coronavirus.”
Yang added that the man was “conscious and had no symptoms such as fever and cough.”
The patient was rushed to the NewYork-Presbyterian Queens hospital and is reportedly expected to survive.
No other information about the man’s symptoms or condition has been made available to the public, as of this writing.
Two cases of coronavirus have been confirmed so far in New York. One is a female medical worker in Manhattan who had just returned from Iran, while the other is a man in his 50s from Westchester and works in Manhattan.
