First look: Awkwafina and Sandra Oh star as estranged sisters in upcoming comedy ‘Quiz Lady’

The movie: “Quiz Lady” follows Awkwafina as Anne, a bright young woman obsessed with gameshows, and Oh as her estranged older sister Jenny. After Anne’s puppy is kidnapped, the pair must work together to raise enough money to cover their mother’s gambling debts, taking advantage of Anne’s gameshow knowledge to do so.

Cast and crew: Directed by Jessica Yu and written by Jen D’Angelo, the film also stars Jason Schwartzman, Holland Taylor, Tony Hale and Will Ferrell. Awkwafina, Oh, Ferrell and D’Angelo are also credited as producers alongside Jessica Elbaum, Maggie Haskins and Itay Reiss. Alex Brown and Erika Hampson serve as executive producers.

Release details: “Quiz Lady” premieres Nov. 3 exclusively on Hulu in the U.S., Star+ in Latin America, and Disney+ under the Star banner in all other territories.
