A photo of one father watching his two girls enjoying a meal at the famous Filipino fast food chain Jollibee went viral online once the context of the story was revealed.
Truly, any good parent is always willing to go to great lengths to be able to make sure their children are well and happy, but this dad from the Philippines truly mirrored the definition of “selfless love.”
In the photo that was shared online, it can be seen that while his two daughters were eating their “chicken joy meal,” the doting dad was just sat in the middle, watching his kids eat. Apparently, he could only pay for his kids’ meals, which costs $2 each.
The touching photo was shared on Facebook by user Jhunnel Sarajan and received thousands of shares and likes. Jhunnel was deeply moved and was determined to find the man, know his story, and help him.
According to Coconuts Manila, Jhunnel succeeded in locating the man when he went back to the area. It turns out that the 38-year-old father, identified as Ryan, suffered a mild stroke and was not able to receive treatment. His wife also left him after he had stroke.
Ryan said that he always makes an effort to take his kids to church on Sundays and treats them to every Filipino kid’s favorite fast food joint, Jollibee. The father spends what he earns working as a street vendor in order to make his kids happy.
“When I see the both of them eating, I feel full too,” he said.
Many netizens were impressed by the father’s love for his children.
In an effort to help Ryan with his medical expenses and everyday income, Jhunnel made another Facebook page dedicated to this “Selfless Father.”
