Filipino Domestic Helper Arrested After Allegedly Hitting 2-Year-Old With Dildo in Hong Kong

A Filipino domestic helper working in Hong Kong is facing a child abuse charge for allegedly hitting the 2-year-old girl under her care with a vibrator.

The suspect, identified as 38-year-old Gina Cannu Baduan, appeared in Kwun Tong Magistrates’ Court yesterday where she was officially charged.

According to Apple Daily (via MSN), Baduan’s female employer discovered red marks on the lower part of her daughter’s body. When questioned by her mother on how she got the marks, the toddler claimed she was hit by Baduan with a vibrator.

The sex toy, described by the chief prosecutor as an “object of a man’s penis” reportedly belongs to the girl’s mother. It was not clear how the girl was able to distinguish the object as a vibrator.

Baduan, who was hired by the family to work in a private housing estate in Tseung Kwan O last year, was fired and arrested after the incident was uncovered last month.  The defendant has applied for bail but was refused by the presiding magistrate. She was not asked to make a plea and was remanded in custody.

The magistrate, who ordered detailed medical reports from the prosecutor, has adjourned the case for another hearing on Dec. 13.
