Adorable Little Boy Becomes NYC Police Officer For a Day Thanks to Make a Wish

Battling intestinal failure since birth, 5-year-old Eric Cao’s dream to be a police officer became a reality.
Thanks to the New York Police Department and the Make-a-Wish Foundation, the young boy from Brooklyn got to live out his dream by being made a lieutenant for a day.
Cao was given a custom NYPD uniform to wear and did roll call at the 83rd Precinct before he hit the streets on Monday to arrest a man pretending to steal rims off of a car, CBS New York reported.
Officer Cao’s patrol was complete with a police dog and a helicopter flying overhead.
While the little boy could have picked to travel to Disney, Cao chose the white and blue uniform, and he wasn’t going to let his condition stop him from becoming a police officer.
Cao is undergoing treatment at Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital – New York Presbyterian, and takes daily medication for his intestinal disease.
“Hopefully the more nutrition his body absorbs, and the stronger he gets, doctors say he may be able to reduce his medicine,” his mother told ABC7 through a Mandarin translator.
She says Cao and the rest of his family are so thankful to everyone involved in making the experience special.
I’m not crying, you’re crying.
