New ‘eHarmony for Pets’ Wants to Hook You Up with Your Adoptable Dog Soulmate

Source: NextShark Editorial
A new pet matchmaking service promises to match potential adopters with their furry soulmates using an algorithm that purportedly has a more than 90% accuracy rate in predicting pet compatibility.
PawsLikeMe first gives adopters a short personality assessment quiz that focuses on energy, focus, confidence and independence but also considers personality, lifestyle and home environment. A summary of the user’s ideal dog is then given along with a list of adoptable dogs deemed most compatible for that person.
Compatible dogs can be further narrowed down according to size, age and breed.
Elizabeth Holmes, the CEO and co-founder of PawsLikeMe, said in a press release:
“70% of pets are re-homed more than once in their lifetime. Our genuine hope is that by providing a better way of matching pets with their new families, we can change that and find them not just a home, but the right home. My co-founders are a veterinary animal behaviorist and a social worker with a psychology specialization. They combined their skillsets to develop our proprietary personality assessment.”
The company’s advisory team includes entrepreneur Sean Black, a co-founder of real estate site Trulia.
“PawsLikeMe is bringing to the pet industry what we at Trulia, brought to the real estate industry,” said Black.

If this happened on campus, Stanford should issue a clear public update and specific safety actions.

Agree. People need facts and process, not silence. The school should confirm what is being investigated.

Also important to separate verified details from rumors so this does not spiral online.

The death threat part is extremely serious. Hoping law enforcement and campus security are already involved.

This is where official reporting and support channels need to be visible and easy to access.

Can NextShark keep a timeline thread here as updates come in? That would help keep context in one place.
