The “Filipino Dirty Harry” has vowed to personally destroy and eat the al-Qaeda-linked terror group as vengeance for their recent deadly attacks.
“They will pay. When the time comes, I will eat you in front of people,” President Duterte said in front of a Filipino audience at Feungfar Convention Center on Monday night while attending the 28th and 29th summits of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, Agence France-Presse reported.
The Abu Sayyaf, notorious for kidnapping foreigners to extract ransoms, is based on the remote southern islands of the Philippines. The group is currently listed by the United States as a terrorist organisation.
Abu Sayyaf however earlier denied involvement in last week’s bomb attack that killed 14 people and wounded 67 others in the President’s hometown of Davao City.

“If I have to face them, you know I can eat humans. I will really open up your body. Just give me vinegar and salt, and I will eat you,” said Duterte, after reiterating his stance that criminal elements like terrorists were already “beyond redemption.”
“That’s true. If you annoy me to the fullest… I will eat you alive. Raw.” He then went on warning the Abu Sayyaf, “Go ahead. Set off bombs. Time will come when I will eat you in front of the people. I will devour you and if I have to, erase you.”
The tough-talking president recently made international headlines after threatening to curse United States President Obama and then apologizing immediately after.
