At a children’s story-time hour on Saturday in San Francisco, a group of far-right extremists disrupted the event by shouting anti-LGBTQ-plus slurs at drag queen Panda Dulce.
Dulce was hosting a Drag Queen Story Hour at the San Lorenzo Library in honor of Pride Month when five men, who were believed to be from the Proud Boys extremist group, allegedly began to shout “tranny” and “pedophile” at her.
The event was reportedly attended by five or six children, who were singing a “welcome song” along with librarians when the event was disrupted.
Bay Area Reporter Tim Johns for ABC7 News posted a video of the incident on his Twitter, explaining that “a group of Proud Boys” had “stormed” the event.

As seen from the video, the men made white supremacist hand gestures and refused to leave.
“They said, ‘who brought the tranny,’” described a shocked Dulce.
Dulce, a founding member of the Drag Queen Story Hour events, repeated how the men shouted, “‘It’s a groomer, It’s a pedophile. Why do you bring your kids to this event.’”
The terrified host was eventually escorted away by security and the police were called.
The Alameda County Sheriff’s Office announced that they were investigating the incident and had already “activated their hate crime protocols.”
