Many people know that Donnie Yen is a great martial artist and actor, but what some fail to remember is that, underneath it all, he is also a great musician – YES! I Know!
In his latest Instagram post, the 55-year-old “Ip Man” star showcased his talent in not just the piano, but singing as well by playing Elton John’s “Your Song.”
A bit of Elton John on my day off and thanks to my daughter @jasmineyenofficial for filming Baba,” he wrote in the social media post. “And you know this piano is from Boston where I played and learned when I was 15 years old.”
Before all of this, Yen’s early life was purely music as his father, Klysler Yen, knew how to play the violin and erhu, a stringed instrument similar to the violin, but only has two strings, while his mother, Bow-sim Mark, was a martial arts teacher and a soprano.

At an early age, he studied piano and reportedly favored music made by Polish composer Frederic Chopin. Check out his performance below taken from a few decades back.

Now if you’ll excuse me. I’ll just pick my jaw up from the floor because that was amazing!
