Donnie Yen is a Badass Teacher Who Fights MMA Fighters To Save His Student in New Film
After a string of successful projects in the last few years including the Ip Man Trilogy, “XXX: The Return of Xander Cage,” “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” and “Chasing the Dragon,” Donnie Yen is back with an exciting new film.
The action legend stars in the upcoming MMA thriller titled “Big Brother” as a school teacher. However, the plot of the film is not only about MMA, but also of the education system.
“Actually, I have always wanted to make a movie about education. I now have the ability to do it, so I want to make a subject that concerns the community,” he told Yahoo! News.
Yen has been teasing the project for months, uploading a few behind-the-scenes photos of the project on social media.
Today Yen, uploaded a teaser to the film on both his Facebook and Instagram accounts.
The movie is helmed by Kam Kar Wai, who worked on “Ip Man” and “Ip Man 2” as a second assistant director. It also co-stars MMA stars and stuntmen like Jess Liaudin, Brahim Achabbakhe, Craig Miller, and Semiquaver Iafeta. It’s currently set for release in June 2018.
