Witnesses Reveal ‘LOL Assassin’s’ Suspicious Behavior Before Poisoning Kim Jong-Nam

More details about the Vietnamese woman currently suspected of killing Kim Jong-Nam, Kim Jong-Un’s half brother have surfaced, shedding more light into the alleged assassin who wore the LOL top.
Jong-Nam, the eldest son of late North Korean Dictator Kim Jong-il, was killed in Malaysia on February 13 in an assassination speculated to be done by two women. A Vietnamese lady identified as Doan Thi Huong is believed to be the one who poisoned the victim.
Witnesses claimed that Doan carried bundles of cash, stayed in cheap room accommodations and generally acted in suspicious behavior prior to the assassination, Daily Mail reported. Doan reportedly checked in first at Qlassic Hotel in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday, February 11. A staff member of the two-star hotel noted that she stayed in the cheapest room.
“I remember she had wanted to extend her stay here, and was ready to pay with a stack of money in her hand,” another staff was quoted as saying.
The receptionist in CityView Hotel confirmed that someone under the name of Doan Thi Huong borrowed a pair of scissors from the hotel front desk after checking in on Sunday. Doan, who was carrying a suitcase, a backpack, and a large teddy bear, was described as someone who speaks understandable English.
She was seen leaving early in the following morning wearing a short with the letters LOL emblazoned on the front. The woman would return later, described to be in no sign of stress. Doan then checked in to the nearby SkyStar Hotel where she stayed just for one night.
Investigators later identified her as the same person who approached Kim Jong-Nam from behind at around 8.20am that day inside an airport in Kuala Lumpur and splashed a poisonous substance to his face.
About 48 hours after the murder, the lady, who is now dubbed as the “LOL girl” by Malaysian media, was arrested on Wednesday morning in the same terminal where Kim Jong Nam was killed. According to the local police, Doan claimed that she had been tricked into doing something that she thought was a prank.
The other woman, a 25-year-old Indonesian national named Siti Aisyah, would echo the same claim, stating that she was paid to be involved in Just For Laughs- style practical joke show.
“Such an action was done three or four times and they were given a few dollars for it, and with the last target, Kim Jong-Nam, allegedly there were dangerous materials in the sprayer,” Indonesia’s national police chief Tito Karnavian was quoted as saying. “She was not aware that it was an assassination attempt by alleged foreign agents.”
Doan’s behavior before the killing has been described by witnesses (employees of two separate hotels) as “calm and deliberate”. Observers have noted that her actions “bore the hallmarks of an intelligence operative”.
Both Aisyah and Doan are currently detained and are under further investigation.
