China’s Most Popular Actress Right Now Also Comes From Its Most Persecuted Ethnicity

China is celebrating an actress for her undeniable beauty, Dilraba Dilmurat, who is Uyghur and has achieved wide recognition despite being relatively new to the industry.
Her name is Dilraba Dilmurat, a native of Urumqi, Xinjiang.
According to Sina News, Dilmurat, 26, received this year’s “Golden Eagle Goddess” award at China’s Golden Eagle Awards, one of the three main national award ceremonies that recognize excellence in Chinese TV.
Decided by a professional jury since 2016, the award was given to Dilmurat for her performance in “Pretty Li Hui Zhen” (January to February 2017), “The Flame’s Daughter” (March 2018 to present) and “Sweet Dreams” (June 2018 to present).
Five years into her acting career, Dilmurat has played popular lead and supporting roles, several of which have brought him acclaim.
She was also named as one of China’s Top 10 in Artiste Commercial Impact chart, according to The Star.
Aside from her impeccable talent, Dilmurat is known for her unique beauty, an apparent influence of her heritage.
Dilmurat is a Uyghur, which happens to be the most persecuted ethnicity in China today.
Her unique looks have since landed her on the cover of various magazines.
Dilmurat has also become the ambassador of several brands such as L’Oreal, Mikimoto and previously Dolce & Gabbana.
Recently, she ended her contract with Dolce & Gabbana following the nationwide backlash over the brand’s racist ads that portrayed Chinese people as “uncivilized.”
Nonetheless, Dilmurat has a slew of projects underway, including Produce 101, where she is set to debut as a presenter.
