Devastated Cat Refuses to Leave Dead Owner’s Side at Funeral in Malaysia

A new viral video showing a white cat mourning its owner’s death and refusing to leave his grave during the funeral ceremony is bringing everyone to tears.
The clip was posted online by Facebook user Soffuan CZ from Langkawi, Malaysia. It has been viewed more than six million times since it was first uploaded on the social media platform on September 18.
The cat’s owner and Soffuan’s grandfather, Ismail Mat, passed away on Sunday and the funeral ceremony was held at Al-Hidayah Mosque in Kelibang, Malaysia.
“While the talqin was being read at the funeral, the white cat came and started circling the grave,” Soffuan wrote on his Facebook post, according to South China Morning Post. “My grandfather was the only one who cared for the cat while he was alive.”
In the videos, the cat also appeared to be devastated by its master’s passing. Funeral attendees tried to remove the feline from the grave, but to no avail.
Many netizens were not exactly happy about how the cat was mistreated. Some said they should’ve let the cat mourn its master’s death as animals also feel sadness when their master dies.
